Hi guys!
I returned from a weekend trip to New York City this past Sunday. I admit wholeheartedly that, in leaving, I feel as if a part of me has been ripped out from the inside. I absolutely love everything about that city: the hustle-bustle of getting somewhere on time; the sweet smell of strong coffee when you enter a local deli; even the aroma of outdoor pretzel stands, which I've heard can be nauseating to some.
Despite my recent depressive mood, I am convinced that I can someday realize my [expensive!] goal of living there in the city and going to graduate school. My dream school is Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Fortunately, on Sunday afternoon, I got to see some brief highlights of the campus, which is located on 116th Street and Broadway.
What I miss most is not so much the glamour of the city in the upscale parts of Manhattan, but rather the old, hole-in-the-wall deli and pizza joints that can be found almost anywhere in that city, but that seem to hold no relevance where I live.
That's all I really have to say for now. Till then, my beloved city of New York.
Laurita ;-)
